Our Terms and conditions of trade
Please feel free to view our terms and conditions. These have been approved by Hampshire Trading Standards.
- The customer is responsible for the disposal of all waste removed from the premises. The contractor (D Cowan Domestic Plumbing & Heating Services) is not licensed to transport waste.
- Where the customer is supplying fittings; the customer is responsible for ensuring they are available at the commencement of works and have been checked to ensure that they are free from fault. The contractor cannot be held responsible for defects in materials, other than those caused directly by the contractor, recognised after installation.
- Where the customer is supplying fittings; Should fittings either not be available and/ or found to be defective, the customer shall be responsible for any additional costs incurred. This is to include any costs incurred where the contractor has to return at a later date to complete the installation.
- Where the customer is supplying fittings; The works shall be deemed to be complete and due for payment when all available fittings are installed. Any delay in supply of fittings is deemed the customer's responsibility, the contractor will not be held responsible for being unable to complete the listed works where fittings are not available.
- The contractor holds public liability insurance for the sum of £2,000,000. Should cover for more than this value be required it is the customer's responsibility to communicate this to the contractor in good time to allow for cover to be arranged. The cost of increased cover will affect the quoted/ estimated costs for the project.
- The contractor will give an estimate of the length of time the works should take to complete. This estimate is supplied for guidance only. Any major variance from this timescale will be communicated to the customer with reasons where appropriate.
- Any plans supplied by the client will comply with all current planning and building regulations.
- Bad weather and illness are considered outside the contractors control, although it is the responsibility of the contractor to inform the customer of any such occurrence as soon as practicable.
- Final Payment for works will be immediately due once the work has been inspected both by the client and the plumber and both parties are satisfied that the work is completed satisfactorily.
- The contractor agrees to guarantee that all work be of a standard a reasonable person would expect.
No Call Out Charges
There is no separate charge for call outs to breakdowns. There is however a minimum payment of £50 + VAT for the first hour.
Hourly Rates
We have a standard charge of £50 + VAT for the 1st hours labour + any parts, we do not charge for callout. This is our minimum charge.
Any additional time will be charged at £40 + VAT per hour
